CONGRATULATIONS TO MR. M. VIGNESHWAR, SR.LECTURER,DEPT OF CSE

Mr. M. Vigneshwar, Senior Lecturer – Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Engineering and Technology, received the “Active Young Participant Award”– Computer Society of India for Zone VII ( Tamil Nadu, Kerala & Pondichery) at the CSI 45th National Convention– Mumbai for the second consecutive time.

He is the first person and first time to receive this award from the Coimbatore Chapter and Zone VII of CSI - Chapter as the Active Young Member at the Annual Conventional

Awards of CSI.

WE ARE HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THAT 'KARPAGAM UNIVERSITY ANNUAL RESEARCH CONGRESS - 2010' WILL BE HELD DURING 8-11, DECEMBER, 2010 AT UNIVERSTIY CAMPUS, COIMBATORE - 21

ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON "MECHATRONICS"

A One Day Workshop on MECHATRONICS was conducted on 19th October 2010. 

The workshop was presided over by our Vice Chancellor Dr. K. Ramasamy.

 

The workshop was inaugurated by chief guest Dr.L. Sivakumar, Prof / Vice Principal, Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology.

Dr. G. Karuppusami, Director, School of Engineering and Technology felicitated the function.

Seventy participants both external and internal had registered for this one day workshop.


The first technical session on “PID controllers” was handled by Dr.L. Sivakumar, Prof / Vice Principal, Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology.

The second technical session on “Sensors and its Applications” was handled by Dr. M.Ezhilarasi, Principal i/c, KGISL Institute of Technology.


In the afternoon session, the participants were trained on PLC programming by Prof. L. Venkata Subramanian of ECE, Karpagam University.

Valedictory Function was presided over by Dr. Mohana Krishna Poduval, Sr. Prof, Dept. of Mechanical Engg. Certificates and course materials were distributed to the participants by Dr. Mohana Krishna Poduval.

NEW DIRECTOR TAKES OVER SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY

With immense pleasure we announce that our beloved Director-School of Mechanical Sciences, Dr.G.Karuppusami has been promoted as Director - School of Engineering and Technology. Staff of School of Mechanical Sciences, congratulate and wish him all the best!!!

It does not mean that 'SMS initiatives' he started will be stopped . With his constant support, we will be working on those initiatives.

FAREWELL FOR OUR BELOVED DIRECTOR

Our Director, School of Engineering and Technology, Dr.E.B.Perumal Pillai has announced that he is going to leave our Institution on 23/9/2010. The period when he was in the post, was a memorable one. Its was our privilege to get such an eminent personality as our Director. But time has come to goodbye.





So we celebrated a Farewell Party for our beloved Director on 23/9/2010 evening at Barathi Hall and gave him the most memorable Farewell. On behalf of all the Departments and especially School of Mechanical Sciences, we wish him a great success.

APPRECIATION FOR GETTING THEIR PROJECT SELECTED IN AIAA

Mr.Ragothaman, Lecturer, Aeronautical Engineering Department, Karpagam University has done a project titled "THRUST VECTORING TECHNIQUE" in their academic final year. Their project has been selected by "AMERICAN INSTITUTUION OF AERONAUTICS AND ASTRONAUTICS" for their presentation on January, 2011 held in the US.




He along with his batchmates has brought pride to our Institution especially our School of Mehanical Sciences. On behalf of School of Mechanical Sciences, we wish him good luck and great success in the future.

AUTOMOBILE ENGINEERING ASSOCIATION INAUGURATION

Automobile Engineering Association has conducted its Inaugural Function on 25th August, 2010.

Automobile Department Students made the above decoration with thermo coal and with some colors.

IMPLODE'10 - INTER DEPARTMENTAL STUDENTS PAPER PRESENTATION

School of Mechanical Sciences has encouraged the Department of Mechanical Engineering to conduct an Inter Departmental Activities named IMPLODE-2010. Its open to Engineering and Arts College too. So those who are interested in participating in this, can register their name soon. There are many other activities and events going to be conducted.

Implode - 2010 was conducted in two days . first day started with lighting of kuthu vilaku by our celebrities.

So the first day started with Paper presentation and Quiz competition.

Paper Presentation was conducted in two sessions. Forenoon and Afternoon sessions. The topic given were World Economy, E-Commerce, Nano Technology, Global Warming, Artificial Intelligence, Reverse Engineering, Composite Materials, Mobile Communication.

All the parcitipants from various departments actively participated in paper presentation.
