National level Technical Symposium 'Citroenzs’2012' organized by EEE Department

The National level Technical Symposium 'Citroenzs’2012' was organized by Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department on 17th Mar 2012 , 10:00 AM at Thirumandiram Hall.


The program began with the blessings of God. Dr. R. Vasanthakumar, Chancellor gave the presidential address. The inaugural address was given by the chief guest Dr. S. Suresh Kumar, Director, Research, Dr. NGP Institute of Technology, Coimbatore.


He provided   information regarding the changes and innovation we can bring to the society by rectification of simple problems faced by man in day to day life. His speech was exhilarating and at the same time very knowledgeable.


 The gathering was also felicitated by our Advisor Shri.k. Murugaiah, Vice – Chancellor Dr. K. Ramasamy, Registrar Dr. P. Lakshamanaperumalsamy, Dean-FOE Dr. G. Karuppusami and HOD-EEE,  Prof. K. Keerthivasan.

National level technical symposium 'ECTRIX 2K12' organized by ECE Department

'ECTRIX 2K12', a National level technical symposium was organized by the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering on 14.03.2012.



The honorable chief guest Mr. S. Chandrasekaran, Director, Roots Group of Companies, Coimbatore inaugurated the symposium.


Several events like Paper presentation, Project presentation, Technical Quiz, Circuit design were conducted on the day of Event.


 

Participants from other institutions actively participated in various events. During the valediction, the chief guest Mr.T.Gokul, Business Manager, LGB, Coimbatore awarded prizes to the winners & participants of all events.
 

Decorations were best out show of our symposium.

“ADVANCED TRENDS IN CIVIL ENGINEERING” ORGANIZED BY CIVIL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

The department of Civil Engineering organized a National level conference on “ADVANCED TRENDS IN CIVIL ENGINEERING” on 2nd and 3rd of March 2012 on the University premises. More than 100 students and faculty member delegates from various educational institutions all over the country participated.



Dr. K. Ramasamy, Vice Chancellor, Karpagam University presided over the program. Dr. R. Sundara Rajan, Principal, Government College of Technology, Coimbatore inaugurated the conference and Prof. Vijayalaksmi, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering Department, Karpagam College of Engineering also addressed the participants.

Thirty technical papers on Structural and Transportation Engineering were presented on the first day. Participants deliberated the Concepts of soils, Water Treatment and Environmental Engineering extensively on the second day. The conference aimed at ensuring sustainable and economic construction for the future. Many new ideas were shared by the young and experienced Engineers in the field of civil engineering.

Dr. T. Meenambal, GCT Coimbatore presided over the valedictory function and urged the students to focus more on research to explore their ability. Dr. R. Lakshmanaperumalsamy, Registrar stressed the students to look at every threat as an opportunity. Dr. G. Karuppusami, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering felicitated the gathering.

MECHTROTZ 2012 ORGANIZED BY MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

'Mectrotz 2012' is a National Level Technical Symposium conducted by the Mechanical Engineering department of Karpagam University. Mectrotz 2012 aims at the juicing out the innovative, technical and creative skills that aspiring Engineers of this generation has to offer. Equipped with events that will make everyone into the next gear, Mectrotz is surely one that no one want to miss out.



Mectrotz has been growing into a renowned symposium since its establishment 3 years ago. It has been receiving numerous papers and many participants from all over the state of Tamil Nadu and other parts of India. Mectrotz 2012 has turned up a notch this year and is assured to be one, which is not be forgotten.



This year the event was made more unforgettable with the efforts of all Staff and student coordinators. Presence of Mr.V. Krishna Kumar, General Manager, AQUASUB ENGINEERING made our event an auspicious one with powering up the motive of 'GO GREEN' by donating saplings to all the participants and students.



The two day National level Technical Symposium 'Mechtrotz', was conducted on 20th and 21st of February 2012. A total of 156 participants from various colleges registered for the events of this symposium.

Event Report

1. Paper Presentation

A total of 336 papers were submitted. Out of this, 55 papers were selected and presented before a panel of judges. It consisted of 4 sessions. This was a team event with each team consisting of maximum 2 members.

2. Project Display:

There were 40 entries for this event. It was a team event consisting of minimum 2 members and maximum 4 members in each team.

3. Poster Presentation:

There were 5 posters presented for this event. It was an open theme event.

4. Quiz Competition:

The quiz competition had a total of 204 participants. The participants were grouped into 2 members a team and a preliminary test was conducted. Out of the preliminary test 8 teams were selected to move onto the main event of 5 rounds

5. CAD Contest:

The CAD contest had 148 entries grouped into 2 members a team. A preliminary test was conducted and 25 teams were selected for the main event.

6. Water Rocketry:

The event received 178 participants. They were grouped into a team of two members.

7. Glider Show :

Seventy six contestants registered for this event. They were grouped into 2 per team. A preliminary round based on safe landing was conducted out of which 12 teams were selected.

8. Mr/Ms Traits:

A total of 67 participants enrolled for this event. After preliminary round, 10 participants were selected for the main event.

9. Remodelled Bike Show:

The remodelled bike show had 22 applicants who presented their modified bikes. A slow bike race was also conducted at the end of this event.

'ASTHRAA 12' ORGANIZED BY AUTOMOBILE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

Department of Automobile Engineering organized two days National Level Technical Symposium ASTHRAA ’12 on 2nd and 3rd March 2012.

The function was inaugurated by Sri.J. Narayanan, Managing Partner, Enterprise Excellence Solutions, Bangalore. He impressed and motivated the students and participants by his speech.




As part of ASTHRAA’12, various events were organized. Around 140 papers were received from various colleges from all over India. Among them, forty papers were selected and were presented by the students during paper presentation session.


Ten projects were displayed by the students of various Engineering colleges and they demonstrated their projects to the participants and students.



'Auto Show' section organized the display of new model bikes, cars and vintage cars to all the students of our University.
Other events like Drag racing, Auto Quiz, Water rocketry, Instant seminar were conducted. Around 150 participants from 60 colleges participated in the 2 days National Level Symposium.


'Safety awareness' was organized for the students and participants. Dr T.Kannan, Emergency Physician and In-charge of accidents and emergency Dept from KMCH, Coimbatore delivered a wonderful awareness speech to the students.
Mr. K. Raghunandanan, Jt. General Manager Coimbatore Central Management, Larsen & Toubro Limited, Coimbatore delivered valedictory address and appreciated the students for their involvement in conducting such a wonderful program.

He distributed the prizes to all the winners of different technical events conducted in the symposium.


Silambattam event was performed by our University Silambattam team.
