'AEROMODELING WORKSHOP' CONDUCTED BY AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

Department of Aeronautical Engineering, Karpagam University, Coimbatore organized a Two Day ‘Aeromodelling Workshop’ on Radio Controlled Delta Wing Aircraft Modeling during 16th & 17th March 2012 in association with Barola Aero Sports, Chennai.



Dr.J.Chandrasekhar, Professor and Chairperson, Amrita Viswa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore was the Chief Guest for the inaugural function. He shared his views on the Aeromodelling Workshop and design of Delta Wing Aircraft in a scaled down working model and its present scenario in the field of Aeronautics.



Dr.K.Ramasamy, Vice Chancellor of the University expressed his views on the development of Aeronautical engineering in the present trends. Dr.P.Lakshmanaperumalsamy, Registrar of the University motivated and appreciated the Students efforts. Dr.G.Karuppusami, DEAN-Faculty of Engineering, Dr.V.Sivakumar, Associate Professor, Amrita University, Prof.R.Sivaprakasam, Head of the Department-Aeronautical, Mr.S.Suresh, Director-Barola Aero Sports, Chennai have also felicitated the function.


The workshop was conducted with Expert Team from Barola Aerosports, Chennai. The Students were divided into different batches and were provided with the necessary materials like Depron Sheet, Brushless Motors, Electronic Speed Controller, etc. for making of the delta wing aircraft.


Every batch of Students worked hard to completed their models of aircraft. The two day hands on training workshop was very practical oriented and interactive, the Students pondered upon the expert team with various questions regarding making of the aircraft model.

The Students designed & fabricated as many as 21 models of Radio Controlled Delta Wing Aircraft and successfully tested and flew them in University Playground using Radio Transmitters. Many aircrafts whizzed in the air and Students showcased their talents in flying their models in the sky.


Upon completion of the event, Certificates were distributed and the Workshop came to a successful end. Kalaignar Television was the Media Partner for the Event. A total of 21 Batch Students from various Institutions have registered and participated with full interest in making their models.
